From The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Edition)

Yokkaichi is now famous as an industrial area, but it was once a port town

at the mouth of the Mie River.

Hinaga-no-Oiwake, on the outskirts of Yokkaichi, is the starting point of the Ise-sangu

 Road, which branches off from the Tokaido.

In fact, many travelers on the Tokaido set out for Ise Jingu from here.

The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
