This pass is one of the most difficult and important points on the Tokaido road,
and is also known as an ancient battlefield.
The mountain range jutting out into the sea remains unchanged to this day,
and the expressway directly below passes along a small section of the coastline.
Yui (Yui) post station is located on the left of this illustration,
but is not visible on the other side of the pass.
The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced
by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association
These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition
at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen
like a dream team in Japan.
