Japanese Woodblock Print  Name

No.070 The mouth of the Nakagawa River  中川口

From One Hundred Famous Views of Edo

Crossing the screen is the present-day Old Nakagawa River, the waterway where boats

travel is the Onagigawa River, and the Shinkawa River in the background.

Nowadays, the Arakawa River can be seen crossing in the distance,

but at that time it did not exist.

It was a key point for water traffic leading to the Edogawa River,

and a guard post was set up there. Today, the name "Bansho Bridge"

remains in the vicinity.
