From One Hundred Famous Views of Edo
Bakuro-cho was a town where horses were traded.
It was the riding ground where Ieyasu held his horse parade (military parade)
when he set out for the Battle of Sekigahara, and Hatsune Inari Shrine,
from which the area was named, was also nearby.
Hiroshige painted it about 250 years later. It appears that the area
has already become a place for drying dyed goods and a playground for children.
One Hundred Famous Views of Edo is a series of ukiyo-e prints
begun and largely completed by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797~1858)
