"Yahagi Bridge" is the longest bridge on the Tokaido Road, spanning the Yahagi River.

 Okazaki is the center of Mikawa and the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu,

and Okazaki Castle was the first castle built by his grandfather,

Kiyoyasu. Ieyasu continued to live there even after independence from the Imagawa clan,

 and the castle was later ruled by a Tokugawa vassal lord.

 

 

The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

 

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
