"Bohanana" refers to the outskirts of a post town, where posts bearing
signs and other markings stand.
Fujikawa has recreated Bohanana with reference to this drawing.
Although it looks like a typical feudal lord's procession,
this is a depiction of the "Hassaku Imperial Horse Presentation" procession,
in which the shogunate presents horses to the imperial court.
The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced
by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association
These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition
at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen
like a dream team in Japan.
