Yoshida-juku corresponds to present-day Toyohashi.

During the Sengoku period, Tokugawa and Takeda fought battles over the castle,

but even during the Edo period, it developed as a key point on the Tokaido.

The nearby Toyokawa Inari Shrine has a branch temple in Akasaka, Tokyo,

and was visited by many worshippers as the god of business.

 

 

The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

 

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
