From The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Edition)

The smallest post town on the Tokaido is Mariko.

The famous "Tororo Soup" is a local specialty, and Basho even wrote a haiku about it.

On the shoji screens, "Chazuke" and "Sake Sakana" are written, and in the back,

you can see river fish on skewers. Even today, a shop with a similar atmosphere

is in business, delighting visitors.

The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
