From The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Edition)

The land stretching out from the right side of the bay is Miho no Matsubara,

famous for the legend of the heavenly maiden's feather robe.

It has developed as a post station on the highway since ancient times,

and was also chosen as the base of the Takeda Navy, established by Takeda Shingen,

who was planning to go to Kyoto during the Sengoku period.

The view of Mt. Fuji is supposed to be good from here, but it seems

that it was intentionally left out.

The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association
