From The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Edition)

"Left Fuji" is a phenomenon where Fuji, which is always seen on the right,

appears on the left as the Tokaido turns north just before Yoshiwara.

This occurred when an inn near the sea was moved north

to protect it from damage caused by high tides.

The saddles on which the three children are riding are

horse equipment called Sanpo Kojin.

The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
