Fujisawa was a bustling post town with worshippers as a temple town for the head
temple of the Jishu sect, Yugyoji Temple.
In the foreground is the first torii gate on the Enoshima road.
At first glance, one might mistake the small hill in the background for Enoshima,
as it is so close, but this is actually Yugyoji Temple.
People on the bridge are carrying wooden swords that are offered
on the pilgrimage to Mt. Oyama.
The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Ban) were reproduced
by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association
These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition
at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen
like a dream team in Japan.
