Toto Aoigaoka no Taki (東都葵ヶ岡の瀧)
From Series - A Tour of the Waterfalls of the Provinces
Aoigaoka refers to the area around the eastern end of the current Akasaka Reservoir.
It depicts water falling from a dam, but it cannot actually be called a waterfall,
and is thought to have been chosen to represent something familiar to Edo residents.
The use of pointillism to depict the waterfall is a style unique to Hokusai.
