During the Edo period, the Tone River was a busy waterway for transporting
cargo and passengers, and people could enter the river from the Sumida River
and head towards the Boso region.
The sky spreading out beyond the four-way net and
the wide river surface create a refreshing atmosphere.
Hokusai Series of One Thousand Images of the Sea were reproduced
by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association
These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition
at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen
like a dream team in Japan.
