The title does not specify the location of the painting,

but there are high mountains in the distance and no houses to be seen,

suggesting a clear stream in some rural area.

The water flow and cliffs are carefully painted with blurred shadows,

giving the painting a refreshing early summer atmosphere.

Hokusai Series of One Thousand Images of the Sea were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
