This painting depicts Togetsukyo Bridge, one of the famous bridges in Arashiyama,

Kyoto (Yamashiro).

It remains a major tourist destination that has remained as lively as ever since.

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom on the bank opposite,

creating a lovely depiction of a tranquil spring scene.

 

 

Hokusai Series of Rare View of Famous Japanese Bridges  were reproduced

by Tokyo traditional woodcut craft Association

 

These traditional woodblock prints were reproduced exactly as the first edition

at Edo-Tokyo Museum have by many of top skilled craftsmen

like a dream team in Japan.
