The end of the Tōkaidō  (Arriving at Kyoto - The capital City at that time)

From The 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hoeido-Edition)

The use of the term "Kyoto" as "Kyo-shi" has been used since ancient times.

At the end of the journey, this is a distant view of the south of Kyoto from

Sanjo Ohashi Bridge.

Hiroshige captured the charm of Kyoto with the stately Sanjo Ohashi Bridge,

elegant people, Higashiyama and Kiyomizu-dera Temple in view.

The mountain range in the background is Mount Hiei,

but the direction is a bit of a stretch.
