From One Hundred Famous Views of Edo
In the foreground is the "Nori no Hashi" bridge over the Kanda Aqueduct,
and in the distance you can see the small "Sugatami Bridge."
The two bridges were confused at the time because their names sound similar.
The golden shining fields are the Hikawa rice fields, and behind them was
the "gravel pit" where gravel was extracted.
The name "Omokage Bridge" remains to this day.
One Hundred Famous Views of Edo is a series of ukiyo-e prints
begun and largely completed by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797~1858)
