Niijuku Ferry was a ferry crossing located across the Nakagawa River

between Kameari and Katsushika Ward/Shinjuku.

It was mainly used by feudal lords and travelers travelling along the Mito Kaido road.

Nakagawa's specialties include eel and carp, and the famous restaurants

Fujimiya (bottom of the painting) and Senbataya (middle section) are depicted.

 

 

 

One Hundred Famous Views of Edo  is a series of ukiyo-e prints

begun and largely completed by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797~1858)

Never rolled up.

Never framed, kept in professional condition.
