The name of the Kinokuni-zaka slope comes from the residence of the Kishu family,
one of the three main branches of the Tokugawa family.
This is a picture of Akasaka from the side of the State Guest House,
and it is easy to picture the Benkei moat, which is still there today.
The fire watchtower on the right is from the Kishu family residence,
and the one in the distance is from a town house in Akasaka.
One Hundred Famous Views of Edo is a series of ukiyo-e prints
begun and largely completed by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797~1858)
